I can see only two arguments against it: -1) Once the adjfile placed elsewhere, a link can be seen as noise in /etc (by ordering maniacs). -2) Can't work if the filesystem doesn't support symlinks. >> A private /etc/hwclock.conf > sounds ugly. one config file for one setting ?
