Public meetings to implement outfitter and guide decisions planned throughout the winter
JUNEAU, Alaska

The Tongass National Forest is hosting a series of public meetings this winter on the forest’s northern districts, in order to collaborate with interested stakeholders on
the implementation of outfitter and guide management decisions.
One of the two meeting series is focused on minimizing crowding and conflict between user groups during spring and fall hunting seasons within the Hoonah, Juneau, Sitka, and Petersburg
Ranger Districts, and Admiralty Island National Monument.
All meetings will be conducted via online webinar format and teleconference. District offices in Juneau, Hoonah, Sitka, and Petersburg will be available to participate in person.
Minimizing crowding and conflict meetings are on the following dates/times:

Thursday, February 21, 2019, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The second meeting series is hosted in cooperation with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. These meetings
are focused on the change of ownership process related to guided, brown bear hunting special use authorizations in Game Management Unit 4. Big game guide change of ownership process meetings are on the following dates/times:
