Mendenhall Minis at Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center
JUNEAU, Alaska –
The U.S. Forest Service will be kicking off its
Mendenhall Minis series on November 10, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center.
Mendenhall Minis will be hosted the second Saturday of each month during the winter season, and will highlight a variety of activities and crafts for 3-5 year olds (other ages welcome) and their families. Come visit the Discovery Zone inside the Visitor
Center with your family on November 10 to learn about the salmon lifecycle, the different species of salmon in Southeast Alaska, and to celebrate the coho salmon that can be seen in Steep Creek. After the program, families are welcome to explore the visitor
center as well as other activities in the Discovery Zone.
The Discovery Zone has been moved from its yurt location to inside the visitor center for the winter season. This space is provided by U.S. Forest Service for kids and their families to learn about the Tongass
National Forest. Come explore during visitor center hours.
