CLINTS WELL, Ariz., April 5, 2018, For Immediate Release —
C.C. Cragin (aka Blue Ridge) Reservoir is closed to motor vehicle access for public safety as water levels are low and underwater hazards. Forest Road 751 will be closed at Rock Crossing campground until further notice. This narrow, winding body of water looks more like a canyon-bound
river than a lake. Nestled between forested canyon walls it provides picturesque water recreation in a secluded, wooded setting.
This recreation area has fishing for rainbow, brown or brook trout which were stocked by the Arizona Game and Fish
Department. People visit the out of the way reservoir for sightseeing, wildlife watching, hiking and mountain biking. C.C. Cragin Reservoir dam is owned and operated by Salt River Project and it has become an important water source for
the town of Payson, Ariz. Notifications of the forest’s events are provided regularly by
