Flagstaff Ariz., Nov. 15, 2017, For Immediate Release —
Coconino National Forest fire managers will conduct a large prescribed burn this morning north of the San Francisco Peaks which will produce noticeable smoke near Kendrick Park.
The Horseshoe-White Horse Hills Project is located 16 miles north of Flagstaff (35°23'22.29"N,
111°42'37.06"W), east of U.S. Highway 180, and is approximately 2,700 acres. The project is scheduled to begin sometime between 9-10 a.m. and will last one
day.
Smoke impacts are possible in areas such as Kendrick Park, Snowbowl Estates, Cameron, Tuba City, Sunset Crater National Monument, Wupatki National Monument, the Little
Colorado River Valley, U.S. Highway 180 and state Route 89.
