Prescribed burn plan for today
Flagstaff Ariz., Nov. 14, 2017, For Immediate Release —
A prescribed burn project has begun this morning on the Coconino National Forest which will produce smoke south of Kendrick Mountain.
The Horseshoe Wild Bill Project moved to the scheduled today. The project is three miles south of Kendrick Mountain, near U.S. Highway 180.
Prescribed burns are always dependent upon weather and wind conditions, which can differ drastically across the forest. Prescribed burns are also subject to approval
from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality as they are coordinated across multiple forests.

Horseshoe – Wild Bill North Project
When:
This project will only go forward today and tomorrow if conditions are within the prescription. Planned ignition will be today and tomorrow
(Nov. 14 and 15) at approximately 10 a.m. The estimated duration of this project is two days.
Where:
The burn area is approximately 16 miles northwest of Flagstaff, southeast of Kendrick Mountain.
Size:
Approximately 1,000 acres.
Closures/Restrictions:
None.
Smoke Impacts: Smoke impacts are possible in areas such as Crowley Park, Kendrick Park, Snowbowl Estates, U.S. Highway 180 and state Route 89A, as well as the communities of Cameron, Tuba City, Wupatki National Monument and the Little Colorado River
Valley.
