Corner Bay Road System Bridge closed
Sitka, Alaska,
July 8, 2016 – In the interest of public and employee safety, the Tongass National Forest supervisor has ordered that the Muri Creek Bridge, FS Road 7540, on the Corner Bay
Road System within the Sitka Ranger District be closed to all vehicle traffic, including all-terrain vehicles.
The affected bridge is located at mile 6.516. The road is closed before the bridge and just past the 7620 intersection
to allow people to turn around and not proceed. Forest Service officials will place a traffic barrier that blocks access to the unsafe area and structure. During
the closure the Forest Service will conduct appropriate testing to determine if the bridge can be rehabilitated for use. For more information, please call Rodney Dell’Andrea at 907-586-8717 or email him at
