Red Rock Ranger District seeking public input on proposed trails Sedona, Ariz., Jan. 25, 2016, For Immediate Release —
The Red Rock District of the Coconino National Forest is seeking public comments on the proposal to add non-motorized trails to the official trail system in the area
of Rimrock, Cottonwood and Sedona. The proposal includes a trail to link the existing Cliffrose Trailhead to the Lime Kiln Trail on the outskirts of
Cottonwood near Mingus Avenue; a trail to cross Wet Beaver Creek near Montezuma Well National Monument, and several trails at the west end of the City of Sedona that would connect with the current Girdner Trailhead near the Red Rock High School. To view the

fcadrian@xxxxxxxxx. Those without email can submit written comments to Red Rock Ranger District, Attn: Francisca Adrian, P.O. Box 20429, Sedona, Ariz., 86341-0429. The deadline for submitting comments is Feb. 29. Over the past three years the Forest Service has been discussing the future of the non-motorized trail system with
the public, Yavapai and Coconino Counties, cities of Sedona, Camp Verde, and Cottonwood and trail user groups to prioritize responsible trail projects. It is the mission of the Forest Service to provide for appropriate levels of trail-related recreation and forest
access. Issues such as who pays for the development and maintenance of trails and trailheads, as well as determining the appropriate level of trail development continue to be at the heart of discussions about National Forest trails in the Verde Valley. The
public provides important input and feedback by submitting their comments during this process.
