Thorne Bay Boy Scout Road is open

THORNE BAY, Alaska–The Boy Scout Road (Forest Service Road 3018 000) on the Thorne Bay Ranger District is reopened. The road is located on Prince of Wales Island just outside of Thorne Bay. Last fall, heavy rain washed out the road at milepost 0.6.

“Forest users should use caution on this and other forest roads as timber operations are in progress on the Big Thorne timber project”, said Thorne Bay District Ranger Rachelle Huddleston-Lorton. “Timber hauling is currently occurring on the 3015 (North Thorne Road) and the 30120 road.”

For more information, please contact the USFS Thorne Bay Ranger District Office at 907-828-3304.
