Naha River National Recreation trail wind damage KETCHIKAN, Alaska–The ramp accessing the Naha River National Recreation trail, roughly 15 miles north of Ketchikan, sustained significant damage during a windstorm earlier this month. The ramp was removed for safety. The boat dock remains
in place but there is no access from the dock to shore. There are also multiple trees down across approximately the first mile of trail.
Due to limited recreation budgets, the Ketchikan Misty Fiords Ranger District does not have a repair date estimate for the ramp at this time. In addition, reduced staffing levels during the winter as well as limited daylight hours will
make it difficult to get the trail cleared of downed trees. Visitors are encouraged to use caution if accessing the area by alternate means. For more information, contact Ketchikan-Misty Fiords Ranger District at 907-225-2148. Downed trees from a November windstorm damaged the Naha River National Recreation trail ramp. The ramp was removed, so currently there is no access from the dock to shore. For a high resolution photo contact
