Red Flag Warning Today for Kaibab National Forest;
Fire Restrictions Remain in Effect for Williams and Tusayan Districts WILLIAMS, Ariz. – The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for today from 2 to 8 p.m. that covers
much of the Kaibab National Forest in northern Arizona. A Red Flag Warning occurs when the forecast shows a combination of strong winds and low relative humidities, which can contribute to extreme fire behavior. The Williams and Tusayan ranger districts of the Kaibab National Forest are under Stage II fire restrictions,
which prohibit campfires everywhere. However, the North Kaibab Ranger District has not yet implemented any fire restrictions due to different weather and fuels conditions. For the duration of the Red Flag Warning, visitors to the North Kaibab Ranger District are advised to refrain
from having a campfire. This advisory covers all campfires across the district, including in developed campgrounds. For detailed weather information including warnings issued by the National Weather Service, visit
