Fisher Fire – Afternoon Update Flagstaff, Ariz. – The Fisher Fire, reported at 3:00 p.m. yesterday, is located near Fisher Point in Walnut Canyon approx. five miles southeast of Flagstaff in the vicinity of the Fisher
Fire from last year. The fire is estimated at 175 acres and is 50% contained. The fire is doing well with minimal activity. Firefighters are currently gridding, securing lines, and mopping up. No structures
are currently threatened. The public should be aware there are area closures around the vicinity of the fire which include some of the trail system. Every fire is managed with strategy and tactical decisions being
driven by the probability of success to meet reasonable objectives before determining a safe, effective, and efficient management response. SUMMARY DATE OF DETECTION: April 11, 2014 CAUSE: Under investigation CURRENT SIZE: 175 acres CONTAINMENT: 50% LOCATION: Fisher Point area AGENCY: USDA Forest Service RESOURCES: 6 Hotshot Crews, 2 Type Two Crews, 2 bull dozers, 1 lead plane, 1 type two helicopter, 6 engines and misc. fire personnel are currently on the fire line. ### Respectfully, Heather ************************************** Heather M.
