Christmas Tree Tags To Be Available For Williams & Tusayan Districts

WILLIAMS, Ariz. – The Kaibab National Forest will sell over-the-counter Christmas tree tags out of the Williams and Tusayan ranger district offices beginning Nov. 18.  The permit will allow the holder to cut a tree of a particular species within a designated area between the dates of Nov. 23 and Dec. 24.

The tags will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis until they are gone.  Tags are $15 per tree.  No refunds will be made, even if weather conditions prevent access to cutting areas.  Trees to be cut must not exceed 10 feet in total height.

Tags for the Williams Ranger District can be purchased only at the Williams Ranger District office, 742 S. Clover Rd. in Williams, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding holidays.

Tags for the Tusayan Ranger District can be purchased only at the Tusayan Ranger District office, 176 Lincoln Log Loop in Tusayan, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding holidays.

The Christmas tree tags can be purchased with cash or check only.  Correct change is appreciated.  Customers will be provided a map that shows the designated cutting areas along with additional Christmas tree cutting instructions.

Permits for the Tusayan Ranger District are also available at Big Five Sporting Goods stores across Arizona.  For additional information about Christmas tree permits for Arizona National Forests available at Big Five stores, please visit https://go.usa.gov/W35V.
