Road temporary closed for culvert replacement

 

KETCHIKAN, AK, June 24, 2013—The U.S. Forest Service is replacing culverts on Forest Service Road 20 on the Thorne Bay Ranger District. The road will temporary be closed at mile marker 125 (about 20 miles north of Whale Pass) on June 30, 2013 at 7 a.m. The road will reopen on July 1, 2013 at 7 a.m. The road will be closed again at mile marker 123 on July 2, 2013 at 7 a.m. The road will reopen on July 3, 2013 at 7 a.m.

 

Old culverts are being replaced with fish passage culverts. The new culverts improve access for fish to travel to upstream spawning and rearing areas.
