Taking advantage of today’s snowy weather the Flagstaff Fire Department’s Wildland Fire Management Crew will be conducting a 10 acre slash pile burn as part of FFD’s efforts to reduce wildfire risk and help restore forest health.  Today’s burn will occur north of W. Rte 66 and South of the railroad tracks in the area of the Clay Springs Detention Basin (McAlister Ranch).  Smoke and flame may be visible for part of the day but is expected to diminish by evening.  Some overnight smoke may settle locally but impacts area expected to be minimal.   Additional burns will likely be conducted throughout next week as conditions allow.

Please call the Flagstaff Fire Department Administration office at 213-2500 with any questions.
