Pile burns planned for Lake Mary Road Wednesday
Flagstaff, AZ – Pending favorable conditions, fire managers on the Flagstaff District are planning to conduct prescribed pile burns off J. W. Powell Blvd and Lake Mary Road tomorrow. These ten acres of piles are part of the Eastside Project and since they are smaller, piles should be completely consumed well before nightfall. During ignition smoke will be minimal but noticeable from Lake Mary Rd, dispersing to the east in the morning, and to the south in the afternoon. Little to no residual smoke is expected overnight.
All prescribed fire activity is dependent on personnel availability, weather – including ventilation, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (www.azdeq.gov).
