Eagle Rock Fire Rehabilitation Continues

WILLIAMS, Ariz. – Rehabilitation efforts continue on the Eagle Rock Fire north of Parks on the Kaibab National Forest. Another round of aerial mulching is scheduled to begin Thursday, November 4 and to end by Friday afternoon, November 5.
The mulching operation follows aerial seeding that was accomplished last week. The area to be treated is 150 acres near Forest Road 76, southwest of RS Hill. The contractors on this project also completed similar work on the Schultz Fire on the Coconino National Forest.
This work is a continuation of many measures that have been taken to reduce flood risk, soil erosion, and infestation by invasive and noxious weeds.  Previous rehabilitation activities include redirecting runoff away from private property, clearing culverts, and patrolling the area after storm events.
Please be aware of aircraft and personnel working in this vicinity and use caution if traveling near Forest Road 76. For more information please call Punky Moore, Fire Information Officer, at 928-635-5653.
