Prescribed Fire Plans for Tuesday September 14
Flagstaff, AZ – Pending favorable conditions, fire specialists on the Coconino National Forest are planning two prescribed fires Tuesday, September 14.
A-1 Mountain Project – approximately 130 acres south of Baderville, east of Bellemont, between I-40 and Forest Road 518. The majority of smoke will disperse to the northeast with the predicted winds. Residual smoke will linger around Baderville and Bellemont overnight.
East Clear Creek Project – approximately 200 acres west of Blue Ridge Reservoir, south of Hwy 87, adjacent to the Ranger Fire. Smoke will disperse to the north. Residual smoke may impact Clear Creek units 8 and 9.
Prescribed fire activity continues to be dependent on personnel availability, weather – including ventilation conditions, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (www.azdeq.gov).
Two lightning-caused fires are currently being managed for resource objectives. Fire managers will adjust prescribed burn plans according to resources assigned to, and the smoke produced by, the Ranger and Weir fires.
