Eagle Rock Fire Rehabilitation

WILLIAMS, Ariz. – Please be advised that helicopters will be dropping mulch on the Eagle Rock Fire beginning Friday, July 23. Aircraft and personnel will be working in the vicinity through the weekend. The Eagle Rock Fire is 11 miles northeast of Williams. This work is a continuation of many measures being taken to reduce the potential for flooding and mudslides.
A fire area closure remains in effect as the rehabilitation efforts continue. The closure includes: Forest Road 97 east to Forest Road 141 south to the junction of Forest Road 76 and continuing south to Forest Road 104. At this point an obvious fire dozer line will be closed to the junction of Forest Road 522 continuing north to the junction of Forest Road 97.
Sudden downpours have hit this area at times this week. Please be aware of potentially hazardous driving conditions as storms move across the forest. For more information please call Punky Moore, Fire Information Officer, at 928-635-5653.
