Prescribed fire plans for Friday
Flagstaff, AZ – Fire managers have successfully completed all planned prescribed fire operations on the Blue Ridge Urban Interface project for the season. Crews treated over 3,000 acres near the Clear Creek Pines and Starlight Pines subdivisions off Highway 87, north of the Blue Ridge Ranger Station.
Pending favorable conditions, prescribed burning operations are planned on the Anderson Mesa project for Friday, November 6.
All prescribed fire activity is dependent on personnel availability, weather – including ventilation conditions, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (www.azdeq.gov).
Anderson Mesa Project – 1000 acres 4 miles east of Lake Mary Road, south of Ashurst Lake. Smoke will disperse to the northeast and will be visible south of Flagstaff and from Lake Mary Road.
