Prescribed Fire and Managed Fire Update

Flagstaff, AZ – Fire managers are planning prescribed fires in the following projects on Tuesday, September 22.  All prescribed fire activity is dependent on personnel availability, weather – including ventilation conditions, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ).

For Tuesday, September 22:
Woody Ridge Project – Approximately 615 acres located southwest of Flagstaff off Woody Mountain Road. Forecast winds from the north are expected to disperse smoke to the southwest. Fire crews plan to continue ignition on this project through Thursday.

Fire crews on the Mogollon Rim District are managing the lightning-caused Bow Fire, about 15 miles south of Mormon Lake, west of Forest Highway 3 near Mahan Park. This fire has treated approximately 550 acres for forest resource benefits. Crews have conducted ignitions along the southern perimeter to limit the fire’s spread.
