Fire Reminder-Chugach National Forest
The warm weather is here! There will be a lot of people out this enjoying the nice weather and the current fire danger is extremely high. Please be very careful with any open flame. Campfires are allowed in pre-existing fire rings and in established campgrounds and recreational areas. Use water to extinguish fires and feel for heat with the back of the hand before leaving the area, to ensure that the fire is out.
Remember that fireworks are illegal within the Chugach National Forest. Citations will be issued for using fireworks. Penalties include fines up to $500 and/or jail time.
