Agriculture Secretary to Announce Funding for Conservation Projects in 50 States
Farm Bill Initiative Marks New Era for Conservation Efforts
DENVER, Colo. May 1, 2015 – On MONDAY, May 4, 2015, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will announce a substantial investment to improve the nation's water quality, enhance soil health, support wildlife habitat and protect agricultural viability. The funding is being made available through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).
The RCPP competitively award funds to conservation projects designed by local partners specifically for their region. Partners invest their own funding and manpower alongside USDA’s investment. These partnerships allow the federal government and local leaders to work together and pool resources to maximize their impact.
