USDA Deputy Secretary Krysta Harden and AMS Administrator Anne Alonzo to Discuss Local and National Efforts to Increase Healthy Food Access

WASHINGTON, March 13, 2015 – On MONDAY, March 16, USDA Deputy Secretary Krysta Harden and Agricultural Marketing Service Administrator Anne Alonzo will discuss USDA grant programs that support specialty crop growers, local/regional food, and farm to school efforts. They will highlight funding announcements to be made by Secretary Tom Vilsack during a speech to the National Farmers Union Conference in Wichita, Kan. March is National Nutrition Month and USDA will be joined by industry partners to highlight efforts at the local and national level to expand access for families and children to healthy food.
