AMS Administrator Anne Alonzo to Discuss 2014 Grant Awards to Support Farmers Markets, Local Food and Organic Production

WASHINGTON, September 29, 2014 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Administrator Anne Alonzo will be available on a conference call to discuss the AMS Fiscal Year 2014 grants for farmers markets and other local food promotion efforts TODAY September 29 at 2:30 p.m. ET. Alonzo will also discuss USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) grants that aim to improve the competitiveness of organic livestock and crop producers. Administrator Alonzo’s on the record opening remarks will be followed by on background question and answer period.
