Media Advisory No. 0015.14 Contact: Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to Host Media Call to Discuss USDA Support for Small and Mid-Sized Farmers WASHINGTON, March 7, 2014 – On Monday, March 10, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, National Farmers Union President Roger Johnson and National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition Policy Director Ferd Hoefner will host a media call highlighting USDA support for America’s small and mid-sized farmers. Secretary Vilsack will discuss recent and forthcoming USDA efforts to assist small and mid-sized farmers and ranchers to help them access capital, manage risk and locate markets. He will also discuss USDA efforts to increase outreach and provide educational resources to small and mid-sized farmers and ranchers.
