Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to Host Media Call to Announce Conservation Innovation Grant Awardees, Reiterate Need for Food, Farm and Jobs Bill

 

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9, 2013 – TOMORROW, Sept. 10, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and Natural Resources Conservation Chief Jason Weller will host a national media conference call to announce new Conservation Innovation Grants awarded across the nation. These grants will help producers and organizations develop cutting-edge ideas to strengthen conservation on private lands. The projects include a wide range of promising new strategies – including improving soil health, conserving energy, managing nutrients and enhancing wildlife habitat.

 

Secretary Vilsack will also discuss the need for a comprehensive, multiyear Food, Farm and Jobs Bill that adequately invests in our nation’s conservation efforts and enhances our ability to care for America’s natural resources.
