WASHINGTON, April 15, 2013-- Media have less than two weeks to register for the G-8 International Conference on Open Data for Agriculture to be held in Washington, D.C. later this month. The conference will bring together innovators from all over the world to discuss the importance of open agricultural data to increased food security across the globe, as well as in opening doors for public/private partnerships and economic growth. Members of the media who wish to attend are asked to register no later than April 25th. The Conference will be held on April 29 and 30th, 2013 and complete details are available at: http://bit.ly/XAvh7V
The conference is intended to obtain commitments from nations and relevant stakeholders to promote policies and invest in projects that open access to publicly funded global agriculturally relevant data streams, making such data readily accessible to users in Africa and world-wide, and ultimately supporting a sustainable increase in food security in developed and developing countries.
