Agriculture Deputy Secretary Merrigan to Announce Recovery Act Investments to Improve Water, Waste Water Treatment in 24 States

New Water and Environmental Program Projects to Spur Job Creation in Rural Areas
 

WASHINGTON, Aug., 5, 2010 – TODAY, Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan will host a national media conference call to announce investments in rural infrastructure that will protect the public health and environment by improving water quality and public sanitation services in 24 states. 

States benefiting from this announcement include: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.
