For me the year in the Konqueror Modified column is more important to me
than not having the year in the clock.
I am (personal usability) testing not showing the date and only showing
the week day. I always found the full date information handy, but I can
click the clock to pop open a calendar. I do have a tendency to forget
the day so something there is useful.
Seems to me the clock should have its own date format storage. One thing
TDE seems to be missing is support for strftime formats. Other DEs seem
to use this approach and also configure the panel clock separately from
the format used in the file manager. Sounds like another feature request
for me to write.
