I don't understand how I failed to get across what I was trying to say,
which included how for many upgrades I've just
edited /etc/apt/sources.list to upgrade, but that Canonical is behaving
objectionably in other ways and therefore I want to find a *free* distro
that will let me get away with just editing /etc/apt/sources.list the way,
I guess I failed to mention, I have for more than a decade.
