Thanks, Philippe, that kind of key combination was what I was looking 
for, and still am, cause these don't work on my system/configuration. 

I'm looking for a general way to find out the key comination for a 
specific symbol/character.

You mean the [compose]-key, no? I have it on Ctrl right but as I said I 
don't know the key combination for my keyboard layout/config or if it 
is possible at all.
