Trinity should be installable and usable alongside a KDE installation with
no problems, but it is also the work of packagers to ensure compatibility.

On my main desktop machine, I run official Debian buster, installed with KDE5
as the desktop, with the official TDE packages added after the initial OS
installation. As far as I can tell, everything works as it should.

I use TDE as my day-to-day desktop, but, as someone else mentioned, do make
use of some packages from KDE5 (for example, digikam - I find the version from
KDE5 to be considerably more usable than the version from TDE). Mostly I use
the TDE applications, though.
