Thanks, Please go to kmail settings for your account. There is a second tab "Extras". There you find a button "Check server capabilities" (loosly translated from german localisation). When you press that button, kmail sould set the correct encryption methode for the sever. If it failes (SSL vs. TLS) just try all combinations (not that many).
