Mounting issues

Hi all!

I've just upgraded some old machines and ran into a issue with mounting flash storage devices:

pmount only: mounting/unmounting works as expected, but pmount leaves for each plugged device a folder with one file in /media/*/.created_by_pmount - is there an easy way to tell pmount to remove that file+folder when the device is unplugged?

udisks2 only: no folder in /media/ is created, mounting fails. I need to create e.g. /media/usb /media/usb0, then mounting/unmounting works. But this is not consistent across machines, some maschines mount flash devices under /media/<username>/... - there mounting/inmounting works, if the folder /media/user/ exists. But how/where can I unify the behaviour, so it always mounts devices on /media/<device> ?

Nik
