This is BS don't waste time. Just configure the IMAP.

But if you want to waste time - you are welcome.

The synchronization part is something I am using daily - but it has nothing
to do with Mail.
In synchevolution there are TDE plugins for
Calendar/Contacts/Memos=Notes/Todos. I sync via Bluetooth - anyway nothing
regarding mail.
