Make sure for "Group" you select "application" and for "Type Name" fill in
"octet-stream". That will do it.

This hasn't happened to me in a couple of years. (but prior to that would
happen a couple of times per-year as I tend to tweak File Associations al lot.

[Slavek] -- you may want to check the openSUSE source -- I seem to recall this
may have gotten a fix 3-4 years ago and may not have made it into the TDE git
tree. I could just be getting senile too, so don't spend too much time
looking, but I haven't had this issue in years on the openSUSE KDE3 builds.
