THANKS guys!!! :-)

I tried all the suggested solutions and the sound...disappeared completely!
I restored a clonezilla image (before TDE installation) for started
from the beginning.

Now the sound is flawless! Loud and clear!!! :-)
(Although I have no clue, what went wrong in the first place).
