It wont hurt to add it, especially for any out-of-tree module that
might use function tracing (3.0 allowed things like system-tap to use
function tracing). But for in-tree kernel, the stack tracer was
attached to the same functions as the function and function graph
tracer until 3.3.

That meant that there was no in tree user that could cause the problem.
