This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled gpio: GPIO_REGMAP: select REGMAP instead of depending on it to the 5.10-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: gpio-gpio_regmap-select-regmap-instead-of-depending-.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.10 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit c790d539de557dda2ec27556fb160f6c4f6920e8 Author: Randy Dunlap <rdunlap@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat Feb 25 21:39:48 2023 -0800 gpio: GPIO_REGMAP: select REGMAP instead of depending on it [ Upstream commit d49765b5f4320a402fbc4ed5edfd73d87640f27c ] REGMAP is a hidden (not user visible) symbol. Users cannot set it directly thru "make *config", so drivers should select it instead of depending on it if they need it. Consistently using "select" or "depends on" can also help reduce Kconfig circular dependency issues. Therefore, change the use of "depends on REGMAP" to "select REGMAP".
