This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled gfs2: Always check inode size of inline inodes to the 5.10-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: gfs2-always-check-inode-size-of-inline-inodes.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.10 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From 70376c7ff31221f1d21db5611d8209e677781d3a Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Andreas Gruenbacher <agruenba@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sun, 4 Dec 2022 17:00:04 +0100 Subject: gfs2: Always check inode size of inline inodes From: Andreas Gruenbacher <agruenba@xxxxxxxxxx> commit 70376c7ff31221f1d21db5611d8209e677781d3a upstream. Check if the inode size of stuffed (inline) inodes is within the allowed range when reading inodes from disk (gfs2_dinode_in()). This prevents us from on-disk corruption. The two checks in stuffed_readpage() and gfs2_unstuffer_page() that just truncate inline data to the maximum allowed size don't actually make sense, and they can be removed now as well.
