This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled USB: ene_usb6250: Allocate enough memory for full object to the 5.15-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: usb-ene_usb6250-allocate-enough-memory-for-full-obje.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.15 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit e537e9aae0c64a6a999583f5d074980ad85bb16b Author: Kees Cook <keescook@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat Feb 4 10:35:46 2023 -0800 USB: ene_usb6250: Allocate enough memory for full object [ Upstream commit ce33e64c1788912976b61314b56935abd4bc97ef ] The allocation of PageBuffer is 512 bytes in size, but the dereferencing of struct ms_bootblock_idi (also size 512) happens at a calculated offset within the allocation, which means the object could potentially extend beyond the end of the allocation. Avoid this case by just allocating enough space to catch any accesses beyond the end.
