upgraded 1.4.17 to 1.4.22 and now no access to folders

I've upgraded Squirrelmail on Red Hat from 1.4.17 to 1.4.22

I can read and reply to the messages in my INBOX.

However, I can't delete them:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access
/mail/squirrelmail-1.4.22/src/delete_message.php

I can't move them from the INBOX to another folder:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access
/mail/squirrelmail-1.4.22/src/move_messages.php

I can't open any email folders (including Drafts, Sent, Trash):
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access
/mail/squirrelmail-1.4.22/src/right_mail.php

If I try to send a new email, I can do it if I paste the recipient's address
into the TO field.
If I add recipients via the address book, I get the error message:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access
/mail/squirrelmail-1.4.22/src/compose.php

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
