SquirrelMail should still work fine like that, but if it gives you
problems on another non-standard (80) HTTP port, try setting
$config_location_base in the configuration file (or see the
configuration utility-->4. General Options-->15. Location base)

I have no idea what you are talking about. SquirrelMail only talks to
an MTA like Postfix when sending messages. It should only be talking
to *YOUR* Postfix installation, not your friend's, unless you are
trying to use your friend's MTA to send your messages. Either way,
just set the SquirrelMail configuration settings for the outgoing
(SMTP) server to the right address and port and it will work as
expected, provided YOU have resolved any connectivity/firewall/other
issues FIRST.

If you are having mail delivery issues, you are not inquiring on the
correct mailing list.

Please send a more informative post next time that gives more details
about your system and what you are trying to do with it.
