Some IMAP servers have this functionality built in.  Check the docs or
look around in that community.  Otherwise, look at the Proon plugin or
Empty Folders plugin (the latter will delete ALL messages however).
Also, you might consider migrating to much more scalable maildir
format for your mail repositories.
