Question about case sensitivity of login ids

I've got SquirrelMail 1.4.13 installed on a Linux server running
Qmail/Vpopmail for POP3/SMTP and Courier-IMAP 4.1.0 for IMAP. I've
noticed when a user logs in to SquirrelMail, an address book and
preferences file will be created with the exact case of their login.
For example,

login: tom@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
address book created: tom@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
prefs file created: tom@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

login: Tom@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
address book created: Tom@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
prefs file created: Tom@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Of course, I get the same inbox regardless of case of login id. This
causes problems as filters and address book entries appear to be
"missing" because they were created while logged in using the "other"
case of login id (e.g. filters created when logged in as "Tom" are not
available when logged in as "tom").

Is there a SquirrelMail configuration option I can use to control this
behavior?

Thanks!

Peace...

Tom
