Are the mails stored in the Squirrel mail hierarchy (Maildir ./Sent etc)
stored as MIME files?

Can I not hook into the correct naming standard for Squirrel mailbox
files and just dump the sendmail files into the Squirrel mail
directories?

These will not be regularly used mailboxes - just for emergencies ...
