Webmail access right

Hi,
I am using squirrelmail on LAMP architecture since last one year. Now I want to give access right to some selected users only. I want to keep one text file containging the userid of some users and only allow those users to access the webmail features. I know that somebody is exactly using this. 

Pl help me how can I do that?
