User c used user a's computer to check their webmail before user a
logged out.  Because user a was still logged in, that person's prefs
got corrupted/overwritten by user c's once user c logged in on the
same computer.  The ONLY solution is to make sure users log out before
sharing the same computer to check their webmail.
