The login manager plugin doesn't pre-place any text in the login
screen - IMO, this is the easiest on the users; no risk of getting the
cursor in the wrong place, etc. They just type in their username part
of the email address and away they go - worry- and stress-free. The
plugin has some "meta" configuration sets that are designed to make
configuring the plugin easy for common-usage scenarios like this.

The Login Redirect plugin can help with this problem.
